First edition. Wellington: George Didsbury, Government Printer, 1892. Slim 8vo. Brown buckram. Pages: [x], 64, [ii]. 4 folding maps. 16 plates (3 folding), numerous diagrams throughout.

Original softcover bindings bound inside red-brown buckram hardcover. Lettering to spine in gilt. Previous owners signature for "Philip Lionel Barton" and sticker for W. Williams of FFEP. Stamp reading: "With the compliments of the New Zealand government department of Tourist and Health Resorts" on upper title page. Very good. Binding excellent, tight and sturdy. Contents very good, some markings here and there throughout. Softcover binding staples have left some markings to gutters. Otherwise, complete, fresh, and clean.
