Mikkelesen's account of the expedition to recover the lost 1906-8 Denmark Expedition surveying north-east Greenland, where Mikkelsen and his engineer Iver Iversen became stranded for two winters.

Original blue publisher's cloth. Covers stamped in silver and blind. Lettering in silver on front and spine. Illustration vignette of arctic range blocked in silver to upper cover. Publishers mark in blind to rear. Frontispiece is photograph of author. Very Good. Some weathering along spine edges, along lower edge, and at binding corners. Age toning on end papers. Frontispiece tissue paper guard foxed. Very minor foxing and toning throughout contents, otherwise in excellent condition. Photographic plates bright and contents clear. Fold-out map separating along folds, particularly centre-fold, and is quite fragile.
