Bound in original navy blue publisher's cloth. Lettering to cover and spine stamped in gilt. Berkelouw books sticker on FBEP. W. Williams sticker and earlier owner's inscription on FFEP.  Very good. Spine strip slightly loosened. Otherwise, binding tight and square. Very minor rubbing to corners of binding. Small tear at bottom corner of FFEP. Watermarking on bottom corner of entire text block, heavier towards middle. Some markings here and there. 

The memoir of one of the most famous and successful explorers of the Heroic Age of Exploration. Contains personal accounts of Amundsen's extraordinary Northwest Passage and South Pole expeditions, as well as others.
