Bound in original dark blue publisher's cloth. Cover and spine lettered in gilt. Cover margins in blind. Good. Binding front hinge cracked, otherwise sturdy. Spine edges a little frayed, small tear at upper edge. Some rubbing to corners. Gilt remains bright. Toning to endpapers. Foxing throughout, more prominent at preliminaries and plate tissue guards. Folding map in near fine condition, some minor creasing at bottom, otherwise all seams and joints in fantastic condition, map clear and bright, free of spots. A good copy of a scarce classic, with a nearly pristine example of the folding map.
