Rebound in green linen cloth, retaining original brown cloth and gilt titling in spine. Previous owner's inscription on FFEP. Ink stamp on FFEP and half title: "Loreto Convent, Kirribilli". W. Williams bookplate. Good. Some markings to cover boards. Binding separated at frontispiece and titlepage gutter. Some age toning on end papers. Minor foxing throughout. Otherwise, contents bright, clear, and in very good condition.

Rymill's account of the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937). An Australian-born British explorer and aviator, Rymill conducted important geographical and scientific work in the Antarctic Peninsula region.

The book chronicles the expedition's three-year journey, during which they used both traditional sledging methods and aircraft to explore and map previously unknown areas of what was then called Graham Land (now part of the Antarctic Peninsula). The expedition was notable for its successful combination of aviation with traditional polar exploration techniques.
