Bound in original red publisher's cloth. Illustrated vignette to cover in gilt. Spine lettered and patterned in gilt. Good. Retains original Alpine Club cloth bindings. Bindings somewhat rubbed and marked with some wear at spine ends. Gilt remains bright. Contents very good: foxing internally, more concentrated to preliminaries. Small tear to title foredge. Previous owner's signature inked to FFEP. Bookplates to front pastedown. A small image has been pasted to title verso. Folding maps and panoramas near fine, free from tears, albeit with some scattered markings to some. An excellent copy with clean, sound internals and well preserved illustrations and maps.
